Consumer Feedbacks And Complaints

Actual Customer Feedback:

"...When I contacted Norton they told me that I would have to pay $ 99.95 for them to help me manually remove the virus and this was only good for 60 days I think, After 60 days I would have to pay again...

When I contacted Norton and told them that I needed to completely remove their program in preparation for the new programs installation they told me to run their removal tool on their web page and said it would completely remove their program. Wrong !! Again I had to call Norton and finally got through to someone that helped me remove their program manually..."

"...I have not had any of their "automated" scans happen without human intervention. Even their automatic backup isn't automatic. When I called support (on two tech support tickets) they put me through the usual steps. After about 5 emails when none of their suggestions worked, they started over with the first suggestion again. I gave up. I have decided that since the product "seems" to be working other than the automatic services which I do now manually everyday, I will wait until the subscription runs out and find something better - with support that is real and not a prefabricated response..."

"...in my second week of owning it, Norton 360 v2 suddenly started having "Service Framework" failures and told me I should reboot my PC to ensure stable operation. I found that I better heed the warning and reboot, because my Quad core PC with 3 GB of RAM would turn into a brick that barely functioned...

...I went through tech support and they had me try a lot of different fixes, including doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of the product. Doing a reinstall actually seemed to make things better for a few days and then suddenly Norton 360 decided it was time to start failing at random intervals again..."

"...I haven't run into any issues with Norton 360 once it was set up well. Yes I had to do some tweaking to get my various POP mail accounts working - many of which are customized and using non-standard ports. It was a one time operation, and has been set since then.

In terms of the quality of the anti-virus software, I always give Norton very high marks. Our cable company provided free anti-virus software as part of our cable bill. Virusses got right through their "shield". When I put on Norton, Norton instantly spotted those virusses and eliminated them without any fuss...."

"...I had been battling a runaway "system" process that finally I tracked down to a Windows system file digitally signed by Symantec but manufactured by StorageCraft. It would periodically cause the system process to hog 99-100% CPU so I could accomplish literally nothing else with my computer. Uninstalled N360, and voila, happy days are here again..."

"...It's like having that safe feeling you had when you had your "wooby" as a child. I did a lot of research before I purchased an Internet security package, and I decided to go with Norton.I have it installed on three PC's and Norton has kept me safe and secure, completely. It's easy to use because after the initial install, Norton does all the work. I am very impressed with Norton's performance..."

"...we were as impressed on this front as we were with Norton's handling of security. The Backup and Restore feature gives you granular control over which files on your system get backed up to which destination (disc, drive, online) and when. We set it up, and early on Sunday morning the backup spit out a DVD disc while we slept. Norton includes 2GB of online storage space for autobackups, which is enough space for documents..."

"...Crashes Explorer all the time, slows computer down to nothing, my hard drive stays so busy all the time, I can't get any work done now. I have no clue what is going on except the whirring of the hard drive and slow performance now makes me want to scream!"
