Actual
Customer Feedback:
"...The
2009
version is MUCH faster - to the point where I am leaving all options
enabled. The hit to the system appears to be minimal. The user
interface is simpler and less confusing also. Big improvements all
around..."

"...i
decided to
give this years version a try and boy was i surprised. It doesn't slow
my computer down at all runs in the background quietly and updates
constantly so u know your always up to date..."
Portion of actual user comment from
Download.com
"...While
I had
almost no CPU usage being reported by windows and by NIS itself I
noticed a significant performance hit on my main computer and my wifes
computer was almost unusable after installing NIS 2009. After much
research in to the cause of this problem I found NIS was causing
hundreds of millions pagefaults on both computers (this was much worse
on my wifes computer compared to mine but both were way out of control)
I checked around on the internet and this seems to be affecting other
people as well but Symantec has ZERO explanations for this problem and
no solutions..."
Portion of actual user comment from
Download.com
"...This
new
version of Norton Internet Security is nothing like the one that came
with my HP laptop (2007 version). It is very fast, never intrudes, and
looks great with the new styling. It found 17 bugs sitting on my PC
that a well known Russian product missed and could not remove. My
system seems much quicker and more responsive now as well..."
Portion of actual user comment from
PG-CNet.com
"...I
was quite
hesitant trying the new Norton 2009 application as previous versions
were huge in size, and slowed even the fastest PCs down.
However, I am more than happy with this version. Norton have really hit
the jackpot this time. It is remarkably fast at scanning and web
surfing. The footprint is very small, and takes up little RAM.
Protection against viruses and malware appears to be superb. Ram. I can
only suggest to readers to give it a try. You may well end up
purchasing it online..."
Portion of actual user comment from
PG-CNet.com
"...To
be honest,
I was really not expecting much. The program had been getting
consistently larger and slower with each iteration, and I was worried
by what this latest version might hold. I should
not have
worried. Symantec did an amazing job, practically rebuilding
the
whole program from the ground up. The interface is clean,
simple,
and easy to use; and the program itself uses almost no resources as it
runs in the background. I have no idea how they did it, but
Symantec took one of the most notorious resource hogs, and turned it
into a lean, mean, protection machine..."
Portion of actual user comment from
GearDiary.com
"...Old
file versions needed deleting before new ones would work, and the key I
got online did not work. On the plus side, Norton online support was
first class, and got me up and running. Norton needs to improve its
online documentation and include a few simple explanations. Once
installed, my initial impression of the new version was that it didn't
have as many easy to see features as the older version. Having been
running it for a few days, however, it is clear that the protection is
wider and deeper, but that many more settings are automated, making
life easier..."
